about reapings the overarching rebellion plot here at reapings is really a background piece to a gpsl that is intended to be a very patient character driven and creative writing focused environment. we are looking for writers who are dedicated to writing not only their own characters, but to contributing to the group as a whole beyond the ideals of psls/romantic sls. since we are all busy adults with the holiday season looming over us, we aren't looking to build a massive group with the fastest moving fp. since this is a gpsl set in a dystopian world, there are no such things as the internet, social media, cell phones or the other typical things you might see in a sol or even most non-sol communities. while we have plenty of ways for ic interaction, this gpsl also demands a willingness from members to interact ooc and work together to move forward when needed. if you're looking for something different, please join!

* we have a current three character limit, and you may only bring in one victor at the moment as those positions may be coveted.

characters reapings starts by being focused on characters participating in the building rebellion against the capitol. we start by centering the group around the victors of previous games and trickling outward. beyond victors, we move to the people in their lives that are welcome: siblings, cousins, exes, significant others, friends, people they volunteered for at the reaping, etc. after that, other characters that have been pulled into the rebellion are welcome. this includes the district mayors or their families. we do not allow canon characters to be played or people on the capitol's side. if you want your character to be slightly gray, that is allowed but overall it makes no sense for capitol aligned characters to be included in the community when the communications are strictly centered around the resistance.
victors. there is only one victor a year in the hunger games. your pbs and characters must be age appropriate for the year you've chosen to have your character win. the victors/games page tells you how old your character can currently be if they won a certain year. keep in mind when picking a victor that the career districts are likely to have the most wins, and it is extremely rare for anyone to have won from 12. that said, we don't mind if it's more of a mixed bag at reapings but it's something to consider. members writing victors get full creative control when coming up with the details of their games. writers can pick their own npcs for tributes who died during their games, their stylists, etc.

mentors are previous winners of the games. if your older character won the games in the past, and a younger character won in the same district then you are encouraged to work together on a dynamic if that older character was their mentor. if you decide to opt out of that dynamic you are more than welcome as it's always possible to do an npc from games prior to what we have on record.

mayors. mayors are not elected officials in the districts, they are appointed by the capitol. some districts may have untrustworthy mayors. if you choose to bring a mayor in, they have to be trustworthy. if you bring in the son or daughter of a district mayor you need to claim that position and write the mayor as an npc.

peacekeepers. there won't be many peacekeepers that are a part of the resistance but it's not implausible that there are none. you are welcome to bring one assigned to any district you want to connect them to a former victor to tie them into helping the rebellion. we will limit the number of peacekeepers if we feel there are more than would be believable.
in character communication: three years into the building of the rebellion, a technical expert working for the capitol manufactured a private untraceable communications system for the rebellions to use to communicate over the districts. using their private televisions and small handheld screens, rebels can communicate and warn each other without the capitol's knowledge. this is how your journals will work for customs and group page posts for ic discussions. the use of jabberjays is also encouraged!

character deaths: your character can be killed off! if you want them to be killed off, let us know your plans and we can go from there. characters who are doa or die off without letting us know are at the mercy of the mods to come up with a story about their death no matter their current storylines. before dying off, you must keep that in mind as a killed off character can not be brought back. if you ask to be removed to possibly come back at a later date however, we can post them as missing, imprisoned or something else.

joining you can use an ic or ooc username to join reapings but be sure that they have no underscores or numbers included. have fun with your character names as the hunger games series has some fun unique names! that said, traditional names exist too and are more than welcome. before you apply you need to have an ooc post up with your character's basic information available to read. their full name, age, district, claim if any (victor's years, mayors), etc. we don't expect you to have an entire bio/history written up but a blurb of 200-500 words that yu can expand on as you go is required. we just want to see that you have a basic grasp of your character. for victors, please make sure they're flawed and not so unique they seem like a main character. ic posts should be available to for people to request a private communication line (custom) and to publicly address your character in general. these posts can just be images, though please avoid tv show/movie/etc. type gifs.

activity we need to see two things from you every month and that is something in the form of an update. we highly encourage all updates that push forward character development. narratives and other writing based updates like private journal entries as well as ooc type updates like ooc playlists, moodboards of your character's belongings/life, etc. are welcome too. we need to see some sort of interactive post from you as well in jabberjay. keep in mind that intros and interactive posts here are not the same kinds of posts you see in other communities. these posts can be quick updates about something happening in a district, discussion about the upcoming games, reactions to capitol news, reapings, or just attempts to make conversations for any reason.

etc. this is a journal based community - please do not try to introduce wire or discord into the mix. be kind and keep unkind ooc words and thoughts to yourself and mind your own business.
